Locksmith - Carthage, Ill. - Antique Padlock - Cabinet Card - Antique Photography.
This is a very unusual old cabinet card. These three store owners have just received their first shipment of padlocks to the store and of course, who would not want to show off alittle. The three gentlemen locksmiths pose for their photograph, each with an antique padlock in their hands. This photo was possibly used in a newpaper or a page of the local paper of the time, as above the middle mans head it reads the word gazette.
The photographer was Sympson. Carthage, Ill..
On the back it was penciled; Peter, Lawrence and Graham - Their first shipment to the store.
