Antique Photo - Ambrotype.
This ambrotype is of a mason or lodge member and his family. He prefers his photo taken with a very serious expression, while his wife has a hint of a smile. As it was always hard for the photographer to take images of children, this is a perfect example. The child has moved her head. This is a one-sixth plate image measuring 2 3/4" by 3 1/4". This ambro type is purchased in a worn full case. It has the original glass which has lint on it. The line you see on the lower portion is a ripple in the elumsion but is not as obvious as what you are viewing. It is a very nice ambrotype.
