Daguerreotypes - Cased Images - Early Photography - Scare Union Case.
This is a fine example of a daguerreotype and the early photographic process.
This gentleman poses with his finger politely tucked in his vest. This dag has a belt buckle and chain design gutta percha hard case, which is in very nice condition. The amber color pillow has a small tear about 1/3 of the way down from the top, hard to see even when the case is displayed. The scarce union case measures 3 5 16ths by 3 7/8 inches and is called a sixth plate.
