Scarce Daguerreotype Case - The Faithful Hound - Double Sixth Plate.
This is a scarce double sixth plate size dag case measuring 3 11/16ths by 6 1/4 inches.
This gutta percha case was made by Littlefield, Parsons and Company. The design on the case is "The Faithful Hound". The case is holding tintype photos of a family. It has 3 little hairline cracks on the bottom edge and one tiny chip on the top right corner visible with a loop. The original glass is cracked over the womans image. This is a Fine Example of Early Photography to add to any photograph collection.
